TIONG BAHRU is the tenth film in the acclaimed CIVIC LIFE series by Joe Lawlor and Christine Molloy. Shot on 35mm widescreen on location in the art deco heritage estate of Tiong Bahru in Singapore in June 2010, the film stars a cast of 150 volunteers drawn from Tiong Bahru and from across Singapore. It is now available from all branches of the National Library Board in Singapore, while it is appearing internationally at festivals around the world.

This site has been set up to chart the progress of the film. Check out tour details here. We will also be featuring films, writings and artists across the disciplines whose work connects with the Civic Life ideas of belonging, identity, community and place.

Next screenings are as part of the Travelling Sydney Film Festival, kicking off in Huskisson (details, here).
